GEBEL

GEBEL (GEstion des Bureaux ELectoraux, gebel.be) is the platform that published the results of Belgium's 2024 municipal elections, built for the SPF Intérieur (the federal interior ministry) through the Imprimerie Wallonne des Communes.

Full-stack developer and webmaster on the project, in a two-person team. I handled the application development, the production rollout and the platform's maintenance.

The platform targeted 99.99% availability and held 100% through the election period. Security relied on multi-factor authentication and encryption of data in transit and at rest, hosted on the OVH public cloud.

Built for 123 municipalities, it was adopted by 63 of the 133 municipalities concerned, then kept in production behind an unavailability banner until the 2028 elections.
